CLUB ROOMS VISITED.
A pleasant surprise was received by • members of the Auckland ( oinmercial rravellers and Warehousemen's Association yesterday afternoon. when Captain T. W . Burgess, commander of tlie Centaurus. accompanied by Mr. F. B. Dwyer. of the Department of Internal Affair's, and Mr. K M. Clarke, of Union Airways, paid an informal visit to the clubhouse in Hieh Street and received an enthusiastic welcome.
The president of the association. Mr. C. J. . Taylor, in a happy speech, expressed pleasure at the call, ami said association members had watched with great interest the achievement of the successful record trip by the Centaurus on behalf of Imperial Airways. Tfcev were prowl that the responsibility of leadership had been entrusted to a New Zealiimler.
Captain Burgess and his men were heartily toasted.
(aptnin Burgees, who was received with applause, said he regretted not having had the opportunity earlier in New Zealand to visit a dub of the association. lie was glad that lie had not tailed to do so at Auckland, as he recognised the position of commercial travellers m commerce.
