POLICE RAID.
ALLEGED GAMING HOUSE.
SEVEN MEN UNDER ARREST
Thirteen men emerged from "the top storey of a building in Emily Place just before noon to-day. Six were detectives and the others mostly labourers.
At 11.30 Detective-Sergeant Ward entered tb<* building, followed -by Detectives Brown, Waterson, Surgeson, Oriffiths and Power. They proceeded to the top storey, where, in answer to a knock, a door was opened. Seven men who were inside the room were placed under arrest and taken to the police station in the police van.
No attempts were made to escape. The arrested men will be brought before the Court later and charged with offences under the Gaming Act.
