UNION SECRETARY'S VIEW. United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, January 5. "I think it is far more likely that any concessions will be at the expense of Dominion farmers," said Mr. Cleveland Fyfe, general secretary of the National Farmers' Union.
He was addressing farmers at Leamington, and said that British agriculturalists need not worry over the effect of the negotiations for a trade treaty between Britain and America.
N.Z. CHILLED BEEF. BEST SEEN AT SMITHFIELD. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON", January 5. The New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, and many prominent traders inspected the New Zealand Meat Board display at Smithfield of 18 entries of 30 head of chilled beef from Palmerstort Royal Show, all from North Island farms. First and/second prizes went to R. W. Way, and third to W. (j. Booth.
The judges reported that it was the best chilled beef from the Dominions thev had ever seen in Smithfield.
