UNUSUAL CHARGE.
STOLE FROM PARTNER.
FARM HAND GETS PROBATION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. . An unusual theft charge was heard in the Hamilton Police Court to-day when Thomas Moran Bolton (25), a farm hand, pleaded guilty to the theft of £10 from Athel Keighly.
Detective A. J. White explained that Bolton and Keighly were partners in a post-splitting contract, and Keighly gave the accused £10 to remit to Auckland. The accused spent the money, and when questioned admitted the theft, promising to refund it.
The magistrate, Mr. S. L. Paterson, admitted the accused to probation for one year. A special condition was that he make restitution.
