OFFENSIVE BROKEN?
SPANISH COUNTER-CLAIMS.
(Received 12 noon.) • MADRID, January 4. Loyalists claim that General Franco's offensive at Teruel has been broken. The intensity of his attacks has reduced and the only attempt of any consequence, namely, to advance from Concur, has been repuised.
A rebel communique says that, despite a recurrence"»of blizzards, necessitating the digging of a way in the snow for transport, their troops conquered new points of enemy resistance near the French border, causing thousands of casualties.
