SWIMMING POOL FLAT.
£1000 A YEAR RENTAL. (Special.—By Air Mail.) LONDON, December 18. Wlion Clarence Hairy, the financier who in 1030 was sentenced to 14 years' penal servitude for £13.000.000 frauds, is released from prison in 1040 (if he is granted the usual "good conduct"' remission) lie will find a small fortune awaiting him. A group of city men. have clubbed together to form a fund—'believed to total at least £20,000 —to help him when he comes out. -The money has been invested in Hatty's name. At compound interest the total will be increased greatly by the time he regains his freedom.
The men who inaugurated the unofficial "Clarence Ha try Fund." appreciate the full tragedy of his downfall ami realise the difficulty of the years that lie ahead of him. Meanwhile a flat containing the swimming pool in which Ha try swam every morning, summer and winter, is to he let at a rental of £1000 a year. Tt is on the second floor of the house he used to live in and on which he spent £70,000.
Built in black and white marble, the pool measures .'ilif't by 17ft and has a maximum depth of Bft, where the diving hoards are placed. The water can be heated up to 72 degrees and for warming the atmosphere there are two hot water and five electric radiators. A large dressing room aiul an elaborate bathroom adjoin the pool. The flat lias five living rooms.
"This is the only flat in London with its own swimming pool,'' the agents said this week.
