BODY RECOVERED.
HARBOUR DROWNING
The body of John MacCormick, aged 37 years, an able seaman from the steamer Waimarino, who was drowned between Prince's wharf and the Ferry tee last Friday, was recovered this afternoon.
The body was noticed boating in approximately the eamc position where it disappeared, by a man aboard the Awatea, who notified the waterfront police.
Mr. MacCormick, who was a native of Scotland, and who joined the ship in Wellington some weeks ago, was swimming off the launch steps during the lunch-hour period. He wa<s seen to get into difficulties, and several men set out to save him, but he disappeared before he could be rescued.
