DRINK AT DANCES.
CONDUCT OF YOUNG PEOPLE. FRANKLIN COUNTY CONCERN. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FUKEKOHE, Monday. "We cannot afford to allow such a state of affairs to continue," said Mr. W. J. Sommerville at to-day's meeting of the Franklin County Council, when a discussion arose concerning the question of drink and the general conduct of young people at dances. Councillors recounted various instances of unseemly conduct in dance halls, as well as outside, in various parts of the district. In answer to a letter from the Buckland Welfare League notifying the council of a conference of hall committees to be held in February, the council decided to be represented.
