THIRTY THOUSAND-MILE SURVEY FLIGHT COMMENCES.—The Imperial Airways' Empire flying boat Centauru* taking off from Southampton Water for the surrey test flight to New Zealand and back. The flight is the longest ever undertaken by a commercial aircraft. The Centaurus arrived at Darwin last Saturday, December 18, and is due to land on the Waitemata on December 27.
