RECORD SPENDING.
CHRISTMAS IN LONDON. STOCK MARKETS IMPROVE. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 16. There is no indication of slackening in the retail business. Christmas spending is greater than ever and the Bank of England note circulation is almost £502.000,000 (new high record). The stock markets are firm and business is brisker.
