ALLEGED BREACHES.

DRIVERS' AWARD. £500 PENALTIES CLAIMED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) this day. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. F. H. Levicn. S.M., a claim by the New Zealand Federated Drivers and Rein ted Trades' Union was made against Transport. Ltd., for penalties amounting to £.">OO in connection with the following alleged breaches: Failing to pay overtime, not allowing a period of 24 hours off duty in each week, failing to provide a time book, failing to pay wages at the award rate. A further claim by Mr. L. R. Thomas was made against Transport, Ltd.. for overtime.

Mr. 0. R. Thomas appeared for the union, and Mr. J. Grav for Transport. Ltd.

At the conclusion of the hearing, which occupied most of the dov. the magistrate intimated that a written judgment would be given in each rase. These cases first came before the Court in August last.
