THIEF CAPTURED.
BROKE INTO DWELLING.
YOUNG MAN FOR SENTENCE. (By Telegrraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A truck driver, Bernard Edward Way (19) was charged before Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., to-day with breaking and entering by day a dwelling at Roseneath and theft.
A married woman said that accused was employed for a few days by her husband, whose butcher shop was in front of the dwelling, and was dismissed when he did not turn up to work on November 10. She and her husband were away on the night of Saturday, November 20, and on returning found the house in possession of the police.
A milk roundsman gave evidence of finding a window open. On getting no response to his call at the back door he informed the police.
The police linked up accused with the crime largely by means of finger-prints.
Accused pleaded guilty and was coin mitted for sentence.
Sentence on a further charge of "Conversion of a car at Christchurch on June 21 was deferred till accused had been dealt with in the Supreme Court.
