FREEZING WORKS CASE.
**. ? e r Jtrbltration Court ha* decided that freezing works employees should receive payment for statutory holidays in addition to their weekly wages when such holidays coincide with their usual weekly day off duty. The decision was given in a judgment concerning a dispute between the New Zealand Refrigerating Company. Limited and the. Wellington Freezing Works and Related Trades Employees Industrial Union, both parties to the New Zealand (except Westland) freezing workers' award concerning the payment of a fireman for New Year's " Day, which coincided with his normal day off. Judgment was that the worker was entitled to the extra pay.
