CAR CONVERSIONS.
BROTHERS CHARGED. ONE HUNDRED OFFENCES. ALLEGED CONFESSION. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Amvtrd late on Saturday night two, brothers. Leslie Archie Morris, aged 17, and Arthur Henry Morris, aged IS), were charged K-fore Mr. VV. F. Stilwell. S.M.. to-day with the unlawful conversion of a sport* car valued at £200, belonging to Richard Ford Sweetzer. It was stated that the youths had confessed to the conversion of 100 ears within the last six months, the total value being about £20,000. A number of cars, it was stated, had been put over bank-* au<l considerably damaged. lii addition a quantity of valuable property left in the ears w«is missing. although it was not suggested that accused stole the projK-rty. The police said that apparently accused's method was to take two <•».•* and run them into one another, or else puh them over banks. A remand tliit'l December B w:m granted for further inquiries. Suppression of the youth's' names was refused. Bail of £150 each was fixed.
