FINAL INGLESIDE.

SANDRINGHAM CALEDONIANS.

Carlton Hall, Sandringham, took on a festive and gay appearance when the Sandringham Caledonians held the final "ingleside" of the year on Saturday night. A gathering of the clans, together with the different tartans, imparted quite a festive effect, and the St. Andrew's Pij>e Band lent extra colour, as well as entertaining with the usual selections and dance music.

The programme was well arranged and carried out to time-table. Mrs. Rattray contributed a bracket of two Scottish songs. Mr. Laurie Stuart gave a typical and pleasing rendering of "McGregors' Gathering." Miss Esma >~jodder, the society's official dancer, had arranged a reel of four young ladies, who gave an excellent exhibition of the "Reel of Tulloch," and so great was the applause that they were not allowed to depart without giving an exhibition dance. They executed a Highland fling in splendid \ style. Miss Heather McKenzie, from Waiheke, also contributed a Highland dance.

The chief, Mr. W. D. Fulton, welcomed the visitors: — From Waiheke, Messrs. Kirkpatrick (chief) and Gillespie (secretary); Onehunga, Mr. Baird; Southland, Mr. Watt; Auckland and District Pipe Band, Messrs. Amor and McCord; St. Andrew's Pipe Band, Messrs. Court and McLachlan; Scottish Regimental Association, Messrs. Barbour and Stuart.

At the conclusion of the programme the chief, Mr. Fulton, addressed the gathering and called on Mr. Watt, from Southland, to give his impressions of northern Scotsmen. Mr. Watt said he was surprised and pleased to see so many of the assembly wearing the Highland garb. Mr. Fulton, on being piped out, was the recipient of rousing cheers and musical honours.

During the evening the chief made presentations to Miss Goodsir, the society's official accompanist, Mrs. Bruce, dancing class, and Mr. McLean, piper. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought a most enjoyable evening to a close.
