MAZIR'S PROGRESS.

KING MUSK SOKE. i TE AROHA CANDIDATES. Owing to the hard tracks King Musk has developed soreness and is having a respite from work. He will probably not be raced again until the tracks become softer.

The Surveyor—Tlie Sapling mare Aynho is now bearing a much improved appeurai'ce and is working very consistently on the tracks. Up to live furlongs she has shown galloping capability, but may require careful placing to get into the money.

Mr. It. M. Taylor's Wynardo, winner of the Hopeful Stakes at Avondale, has returned to M. Lipsey's stable at Te Aroha. When lie was taken charge of by Hector Gray he was being purchased by a well-known New Plymouth sports lady. Since then a difference of opinion arose us to the price quoted by the owner, with the result that the latter decided to retain possession. Wynardo, who has improved in conformation and become more muscular, is doing very creditable work, and he is to race in juvenile events at the Auckland summer meeting. A. E. Cox has been allotting the Spear Dance—Keep Watch mare her full share of work lately and she bears a much more racy appearance than previously. She has been given plenty of time in which to mature and is likely to prove a payable proposition. The Philamor—Gay Round two-year-old filly in the same stabia has grown materially, but will require more time before being required to do fast work. She is a class filly, and in her case the patient policy adopted with her may be fully justified. Black Musk has resumed track work and will noon be ready to race again. Miss Bnerly, from the same stable, is executing her track work satisfactorily. The fullsister to Miss Lu is to contest two-year-old events at the Waikato meeting.

H. Kva is keeping Galloping Acre up to his work, and lie should not be long in striking form. So far he has only laced in public once and may yet require more education with the colours up. The brown gelding by Raceful from a St. Paul mare has greatly improved in appearance and will be ready to race sooner than expected. During the past ten days Mr. J. H. Wallace's Mazir has been galloping consistently, especially up to a mile. He is still a shade above himself, but is fining down gradually, and it should not be long before he is again at his best.
