SCHOOL AMALGAMATION.
| POSITION IN HAMILTON.
(From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Friday. In reply to a letter from the Hamilton Technical School Board of Managers as to what steps were being taken with regard to the amalgamation of the Hamilton High School and the Hamilton Technical School, the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, wrote to the board stating that he fully appreciated the difficulties under which the board was labouring and asking for its continued eo-operntion until the amalgamation proposals were put into effect. The chairman, Mr. Cnrrick Nisbet, reported on a meeting with the Minister of Education and the Director of Education. Mr. N". T. Lambourne, in Wellington, at which the amalgamation was discussed. Mr. Lamhourne had taken notes of various suggestions, but had no statement to make.
"I have suggested to the chairman of the Hamilton High School Board that members of this board should confer with members of his board in an endeavour to settle any outstanding problems," said Mr. Nisbet.
