CENOTAPH SERVICE.

THE 19TH YEAR AFTER.

TWO MINUTES' SILENCE. Armistice Day—the nineteenth year lifter —-will lie observed throughout the Dominion to-morrow. In Auckland, every member of the community will tiike pint in some way. A brief service will lio held nt the Cenotaph, where wreath* will lie luiil by Sir George Richardson, on behalf of the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, who will bo absent from the city, representatives of various organisations, and school children, at the conclusion of the imiia.l two minutes' silence at 11 o'clock. Arrangements at the Cenotaph will be handled by Captain R. S. .Tudson, V.C. Although ho ha* retired from tho New Zealand Staff Corps, he has consented to n request by the Auckland Returned Soldier*' Association to lie responsible for the procedure. The full guard, together with tho buglers, will be provided by the King's College cadet battalion. For tho first time three senior pupils have been delegated to lead the afTicial wreath parties into position on the stops of tho Cenotaph. Appropriate mn«ic will he provided by tho Rliltd Institute Bond until the time for tho two minutes' silence. The service will open with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by the hymn "Abide With Me." As eleven o'clock strikes the flags will be lowered and the strains of the "Last Post" will be heard as a salvo booms out. from tho saluting battery at the Devonport naval baoe, indicating the beginning of the silence. Tho four buglers will sound a single note to mark the end of the two minutes, in case a high wind makes it difficult to hear the battery. ' Reveille" and the raising of the new flags will follow. At this stage the selected King's College cadets will cecort the official wreath parties to the foot of the Cenotaph steps, and the public will hare opportunity to pay tribute to the fallen by placing flowers alongside. After the singing of "Nearer My God to Thee'' the old flag* will be presented to various Auckland schools by the president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr. J. W. Kendall. The ceremony will conclude with the playing of the I National Anthem. During the period of silence all vehicu- ' lar traffic In the city will be suspended and Activities in all branches of industry will cease. Citizens and traffic authorities are earnestly requested by the Mayor to observe the two minutes' eilence. Rosemary will be laid on all soldiers' graves in "the Waikumete Cemetery by members of the Viotoria League, which will also conduct a service at the O'Neill's Point Cemetery.
