LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
Rem tier* No. 2. —The November meeting of the Remuera branch No. 2 was held, and mem»bers were privileged to hear an address by the Rev. Moreton on the work of the Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society. He first touched briefly on the methods of correction, not punishment as in olden times, used in the prisons in England. He explained how the society cared for the dependents of the imprisoned man and on his release helped him to become once again a useful and resppcted member of the community. Songs by Mrs. Scott and the serving of afternoon tea by Mesdames Macky, Harland and Hanson concluded the meeting.
