NATIONAL RECORDS BROKEN 1 .

At the thirteenth annual meeting of the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club the report disclosed that the active racing membership had exceeded the century mark for the first occasion in the hiatory of the club.

The membership roll showed 1M registered riders, made up of 06 seniors and 50 juniors, eight honorary and three life members. During the season 47 new members were enrolled.

The club cnampions for the season were: 1000 metres time trial, J. H. Wade; sprint, J. H. Gillbanke; 10-mile paced. J. H. Wade; and 5-mile junior, C. Caddy. Road champions: Senior, R. S. Triner; junior, (J. H. Pioknell; and all-round champion, J. Brown.

Members were also successful in gaining the following provincial track titles: 1000 metres sprint, J. H. Wade; 10-mile paced. A. G. Patrick. The 100-mile provincial road title was won by .1. Brown, in the New Zealand record time of 4h 28m 2as, while C. H. Picknell won the junior provincial title decided over 25 miles. At the New Zealand track championships J. H. Wade tied with Giles and Murray, of Canterbury, for the 1000 metres time trial title, while A. G. Patrick won the KVmile paced event by over a lap, in the New Zealand record time of 20.33. ,T. Brown also won the North Island 100mile title.' decided over the Palmerston North to Petone course. A team of ten club members in the latter race.

The following riders" raced in every road event for which eligible: S. -T. Baird. J. Stewart. D. T. Riddell. W. W. Gallagher. K. Crawford. E. W. Buchanan, K. G. Picknell and .T. I. Walker.

Cup and shield winners were: Avondale Cup. W. T. Willis; Captain's Cup. C». H. Cunningham: Cotter Cup. A. W. Stonex: House Cup. R. S. Triner: Helliwell Cup. E. W. Buchanan; Kohn Cup, W. O'Shaughnessy: President's Cup. ,T. I. Walker: Fleetwing Shield. R. S. Triner; Grant Memorial Shield. E. W. Buchanan: Victim's Cup. R. S. Triner; and Junior Cup. N. F. Harvey. Four club course records were broken during the season. Triner reduced the 44 miles "round the harbour" figures to 2h 2m 12s, and the 34-mile DevonportHenderson record to lh 38m 425. E. G. Mynott gained the 20-mile circuit record in 54m 6s. while D. T. Riddell took the 35-mile circuit record at 68.37.

A. G. Patrick established two New Zealand track records, the five-mile in 10.41. and the paced 10-mile in 20.33. -T. H. Wade tied with Giles and Murray in the 1000 metres record of 1.16 2-5.

The accounts showed a credit of £6 17'8 nfter awarding trophies to the value of £111, and sending a team to Wellington to compete in the 100-mile road championship race. Officers elected: Patron.
