BANANA PARASITES.
SHIPMENT FOR JAMAICA.
White mice, guinea pige and «ome insects with an unpronounceable name have been among the cargo oddities passing through Auckland during the paet few weeks. These were collected within the Dominion, or were consigned here from Jamaica for reehinment, but the latest, and surely one o( the most uniMiial, cargoes is coming from a new pouree. It will eventually be landed at Jamaica. Collected in the heart of Malaya under the direction of the Department of Agriculture, five casee non-techni-cnlly labelled "Banana Borer Parasites," were transported to Singapore and shipped by a Dutch steamer to Sydney. From that port they will be brought to Auckland by the Wanjranella, arriving here on October 13, * n d will be kept in storage until November 3
