Innkeeper's Daughter and
Ex-Premier.
ADVERSE PUBLIC OPINION. (Received 2.30 p.m.) CAIRO, October 4. "I did not agree to become engaged to Neesim for his name and glory, but, after all this intrigue against the dignity of the man I love, I have decided to leave this country until public opinion in Egypt can appreciate my real feeling."
This statement was made by Marie Huebner, Austrian innkeeper's daughter, whose romance with Tewfik Nessim Pasha, a former Prime Minister of Egypt, aroused considerable controve-sy in her fiance's country.
Nessim Pasha, in a statement, declared that he "could never accept or agree to a commercial marriage, -vnd. therefore, would abandon marriage for 1 the time being."
