"LEST WE FORGET."
Efface Words " As Contribution To World Peace."
KENT COUNCIL'S DECISION. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 4.
"As a contribution to world peace" Broadstairs (Kent) Council has decided to efface the words, "Lest We Forget," from the Lusitania raft on the pier. One councillor, supporting the decision, said: "I have a body full of war wounds but don't undress several times a day to look at them. I want to forget them." A man was recently fined for defacing the words with paint.
