THE KANGAROOS. HALIFAX VICTORIOUS. AUBTRAUAIfS LOSE BT TEH. LONDON, October 3. The Australinn Rugby League touring team was defeuted by Halifax, by 12 points to 2. The half-time score was 2-all. Poor handling marked the Australians display, but they also had misfortunes, due to Williams, Hazelton and Prigg being hurt. The g.inio was fast, and there were Runif! superb passing movements. ' Elias kicked a nice field goal for the local team, while Oilbert kicked a penalty before the interval, Halifax were in front 10 minutes after the resumption, Smith scoring and Lockwood converting. Stehr, the Australian forward, made several determined attacks, but dropped passes told against the tourists. The visitor* looked like scoring on ninny occasions, but the Halifax defence held intact.
