MEMORIAL TRIBUTES.

DR. NEIL McDOUGALL. FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED. "This very representative body of citizens -of Auckland is gathered to pay a tribute to departed merit. The services of the late Dr. McDougall were highly prized and his charming personal qualities endeared him to all," said the Rev. W. C. Wood, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, in the course of a brief address at the memorial service to the late Dr. Neil McDougall, well-known Auckland medical practitioner, at St: Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lower Symonds Street, on Saturday afternoon. On <behalf of the Hospital Board and staff, Mr. Wood expressed deep regret at the passing of one of the city's most valued citizens.

The church was filled to capacity and an impressive service was conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The "Dead March in Saul" was played by Mr. E. S. Craston. Forming a guard of honour at the church were members of the St. John Ambulance Association and Brigade and the Nursing Division. Six representatives from these organisations acted as pall-bearers. Mr. C. J. Tunks, chairman of the executive committee of the St. John Ambulance Association, was present, accompanied by officers. Among those at the church were:— The Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, Dr. Lawrence Ludbrook, president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Division of the British Medical Association, several prominent doctors; Mr. L. Munro, chairman of the Auckland Football Association; Mr. H. Frost, president of the Auckland Rugby Union; representatives of the Auckland Bowling Club, the Auckland Presbytery and elders and managers of St. Andrew's Church.

A large number of motor cars joined the cortege from the city through Onehunga to the Waikaraka Cemetery, where an impressive graveside service was conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes, at the close of which members of the St. John Ambulance guard of honour saluted individually as a final act of respect. An exceptionally large number of beautiful floral tributes were placed at the graveside.

A memorial service was conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes at St. Andrew's Church yesterday morning, and reference to Dr. McDougall's valued services to the church were made by the Rev. W. Bower Black at St, David's Presbyterian Church. Mr. Black expressed the deep sympathy of the congregation with the sorrowing relatives.
