ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.
ST. MARY'S CATHEDRAL. The 77th anniversary of St. Mary's Cathedral Church, Paniell. will be celebrated to-morrow. Canon Fancourt will be the preacher at the morning and Archbishop Averill at the evening service. c
The original church was consecrated on Sunday, October 14, 1860, and the present church on September 30. 1888, when St. Mary's became the cathedral church of the Auckland Diocese. Aided by contributions by citizens and the munificent bequest of Miss M. Horton, it is hoped that a cathedral will be built on the site originally set apart by Bishop Selwyn. A committee has been set up by the Anglican Synod to conduct a campaign for funds.
An appeal for the renovation of cliureli buildings and grounds will be made tomorrow.
