RHODES SCHOLARSHIPS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' CHRISTCHUECH, Friday. The Canterbury University College nominees for the Rhodes Scholarship are Mr. J. X. Matson and Mr. R. Hurst. Mr. Matson, who was an unsuccessful Canterbury candidate last year, is a law student reading for the final section of the Bachelor of Laws degree, and has an ambition for entering the colonial service. Mr. Hurst hold* the Master of Science degree and is interested in research chemistry and physics.
