YEAR'S PROGRESS
MOUNT EDEN BAPTISTS. The finances of the Mount Eden Baptist Church were shown to be in a healthy state when the fiftj'-second report and bal:ince-shect were presented at the annual meeting of the church this week. The l!ev. J. D. Jensen presided. Those present includrd Mr. F. A. Cleveland, one of the members who transferred from the original Baptist church in Welleslev Street after the church at Mount Eden was built. A pleasing feature of the year's work had been that of the Sunday school and Bible classes, the membership having been well maintained under difficult circumstances. The Christian Endeavour movement had progressed, and during the year an intermediate branch was formed. A special tribute was paid to the Rev. J. D. Jensen, whose ministry had proved an inspiration and a help to both members and adherents. The election of officers resulted in the reappointment of Mr. J. M. Barker as secretary and Mr. Reg. Smith as treasurer. Mr. J. Everett was elected to the deaconate, Mr. J. Eade being unable to again accept nomination.
