TOWN PLANNING.

MT. EDEN BOROUGH REPORT. A report defining areas in the borough for the erection of shops, dwellings, factories, and flats was presented by a town planning committee to the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. The opinion was expressed that the shopping areas should be confined to Dominion Road and Mount Eden Road, but it was agreed that while no more I shops should be erected in residential areas, shops could be erected for a distance of 100 feet north of Landscape Road in Dominion Road. The report defined 14 shopping areas, and three areas in which it was held factories could be erected. Massive tenements, it was recommended, should be prohibited. The report, which was a lengthy one, is to be forwarded to the Town Planning Institute for approval.
