GAME ON THE COAST. ~~~~~ BROODRYK'S, FIRST MATCH. GILBERT UNABLE TO MAT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, Monday. The Springboks, in the charge of Mr. C. C. A_ de Villiere, were welcomed informally by a large crowd on arrival today from Christchurch. They will train to-morrow at Rugby Park and in the afternoon make a motor trip to Barry town to inspect the large dredge. The manager, Mr. P. W. Day, k indispoeed and remained at Chrietehurch, as aleo did G. H. Brand and A. R. Sheriff. Mr. de Villiere eaid that the team wae impressed with the Otira Tunnel and the alpine ecenery on the overland journey. D. H. Craven and L. AIX BLACKS FOR SECOND TEST TRAINING AT NEW BRIGHTON. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The twenty New Zealand players chosen to train for the second Test against the Springboks, at Christchurch on September 4, will spend four days before the match at New Brighton. Mr. J. T. Burrows, manager of the All Blacks, hae been in touch with the Mayor of New Brighton, Mr. E. L. Smith, and grounds have been prepared for training. Mr. Smith said at a meeting of the New Brighton Borough Council this evening that the players would arrive on the Tuesday before the Test. Both grounds in the borough would be put in good order. It had also been suggested that the council should co-operate with the local football club in providing some heavy men to assist in scrum practice.
