BOATING CLUB.
WAITEMATA'S OFFICERS. HEALTHY FINANCES. The fifty-fourth annua] general meeting of the Waitemata Boating Club was held in the boathouse, King's Drive, last evening, Mr. G. H. Reston, vice-coramo-dore, presiding. In congratulating the members on the position revealed in the report and balance-sheet, Mr. Reston referred particularly to the finances of the club. It was shown, he said, that

an overdraft wag, unusually, absent. The [chief contributing factor to the healthy | financial position was the very successful • regatta season, the winning donations totalling £113. The year's operations showed an excess of income over expenditure of £69 8/2, compared with £7 10/1 ( for the previous 12 months. ' On the motion of the chairman a vote of condolence was passed with the relatives of three old members, G. McKay (foundation member). J. Draffin and J. | Leikie. . I In recognition of his loyal services to i the club for the pa<st 15 years, Mr. A. M. ' MacKay was elected a life member. The
election of officer* resulted ae follows:— Commodore, Mr. C. J. Ellerbeck; vicecommodore, Mr. G. H. Reston; president, Mr. W. Denieon; vice-presidente, thirteen of last year's officers were re-elected; captain, Mr. O. W. Denieon; vice-captain, Mr. A. Harper; honorary secretary, Mr. V. Corbett; honorary treasurer, Mr. J. W. McCowan; executive committee, Messrs. R. G. Barker, L. N. Rose, P Usher, G. Brown, T. C. Bellringer; trustees, left to the incoming executive; auditor, Mr. A. A. Lucas; delegates to A.R.A., Messrs. R. G. Barker, C. C. Cairne and P.- Usher.
Congratulations were extended to Mr. 0. W. Denieon on hie selection for the New Zealand eight-oar crew for the forthcoming Empire Games.
