HEARD IN AUCKLAND.
SIGNALS TO MRS. PUTNAM. I A radio listener, Mr. Churton, of St. Helier's Bay, last night heard a very interesting- broadcast from the Honolulu station KGMB on 1320 kilocycles in which instructions were being sent to Mrs. Putnam and her co-flyer, Mr. Noonan. The lost aviators were asked to use certain given signals to correspond with their position north, south, east or west of Howland. The messages were heard very distinctly by the listener about 10.30 and 10.45 and were | being repeated at quarter hour intervals. I No reply could be picked up from the' missing aviators. 1
