WAIKATO VICTORY.
MATCH AT WAXHX. THAMES VALLEY DEFEATED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Monday. A game of a high standard was played on Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon, when a Waikato fifteen defeated the Thames Valley representatives by 19 pointe to 9. The -weather -was perfect and the game was witnessed by a record crowd. Thames Valley showed much improved form on the last two or three seasons and gave a good account of themselves against a more polished combination. The Waikato forwards were better on attack and broke through repeatedly. Firet honours in the scoring went to Waikato when Wynyard dribbled the baU the length of the field for Best to ecore and convert. Aitken scored Waikato's second try. Veddar kicked a penalty goal for Valley. Just on the call of half-time Aitken, Catley and Best raced half the length of the field for Best to score again. Vallanee converted and made 'the eoore 11 to 3 in favour of Waikato. In the second half Flanagan broke away from the ruck to score for Waikato, Vallanee again converting. With Valley on the attack, Clotworthy received and passed on to Swann, who scored. The try was not converted. Thames Valley's final three points oat»e from a penalty kick by Aineley. Thi* was followed »by a successful penalty kick taken by Vallanee, making Waikato the winners by 19 pointe to 9.
SCHOOLS IN NORTH.
UNION AT WHANQAREI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A unanimous decision to form a North Auckland Primary Schools R.U. and to apply to the North Auckland Union for affiliation was arrived at by a meeting of delegates held ii> Whangarei. Owing to the floods there was a poor representation, and the election-of officers and framing of rnles was postponed until a further meeting.
