WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong-westerly winds, backing to southerlies and increasing. Weather squally and changeable, with rain in most parts and becoming colder. Seas moderate, but rising. A depression crossed the Dominion last night and a shallow one is still located to the north-west. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong westerlies, backing to south and freshening. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable; rain probable, heavy in places. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas moderate, but increasing off shore. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in tha Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west, moderate; sea, smooth; weather, cloudy and showery; visibility, fair; barometer, falling.
