BY-ELECTION IN SUBSET. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON. July 4. A by-election for the Chertsey division of Surrey, necessitated by the death of Sir Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, resulted:— Commander A. Marsden (Con.) . 19.707 Mr. Haylor (Lib.) 10,722 Majority 9,040 Sir A. Bovd-Carpenter's majority was 18,877.
