BODIES FIRST.
MINDS COME LAST. German Educational System Criticised. BRITISH EXPERTS' SURVEY. (Received 10 ajn.) LOXDOX, July 4. "Continuance of excess of physical education at the expense of things of the mind may lead to fearful consequences for Germany and to trouble for the xest of the world,", declares a report of senior officials of the Board of Education, who were invited to investigate German educational methods. A feature of German education is the "Xapoli" schools, in which specially selected pupils are trained for political and military leadership in accordance with Herr Hitler's own ideas. Their first aim is cultivation of hardy bodies capable of enduring any fatigue. A second objective is exercise of willpower and responsibility. The third and least important aim is a grounding in academic subjects. The report praises attempts to teach workers healthy and sensible ways of occupying their leisure.
