KING'S OLD BOYS.
WAIKATO BRANCH REUNION. GROWTH OF ASSOCIATION. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A statement that the school was flourishing was made by the headmaster of King's College, Mr. J. N. Peart, when speaking at the annual reunion of the Waikato branch of the Old Boys' Association on Saturday evening. An attendance of 100 included members from as far south as Taumarunui, and a large party from Auckland. The president, Mr. A. B. Rainger, said that the association's roll stood at the record figure of 830, and that its affairs were in good heart. For the jubilee fund—a fund calculated to make the association self-supporting by 1945—the sum of £131 had been raised, which was nearly double the quota for the year. The association was endeavouring to play its part in social work. A high tribute to the loyalty of King's Old Boys to their school was paid by Mr. J. R. Morris, headmaster of King's Preparatory School. Toasts were honoured as follow:— "The King" (the president); "The St. John's Trust Board, the College and the School" (Mr. H. M. Hammond—Messrs. A. M. Hume. J. N. Peart, J. Morris); "Absent Old Boys and Guests" (Mr. C. Tidmarsh—Colonel T. H. Dawson); "The Masters" (Mr. E. M. Innes-Jones—Mr. H. T. Revell); "Kindred Associations." (Mr. H. T. Morton— Mr. A. G. Ward).
