RETURNED SOLDIERS
ANNUAL OTAHUHTT reunion. The attendance at the eleventh annual reunion of the Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Association was the largest for a number of years. The president, Mr. R. V. Closey, occupied the chair, and associated with him were the Mayor of Otahuhu Mr C. R. Petrie, M.P., Messrs. Nicholson and Young, representing the Papatoetoe Town Board; representatives of the Auckland, Onehunga, Western Suburbs and Franklin Returned Soldiers' Associations. Mr. Spencer, representing the Passenger Transport Company, and Mr. H. T. Clements An interesting address was given by Mr. Petrie, who outlined the work done by the Government for the "diggers." In reply to> the "United Services" toast, Mr. Closey voiced a warning concerning the danger of unpreparedness in the event of war. -: The musical programme was an excellent one, Messrs. A. Sutcliffe, Hamilton, and E. and A. McLaughlin, L. Woods, E. Marcroft and Saunderson contributing items. , Mr. W. Beck played the accompaniments. The committee responsible for the rally comprised Messrs. J. Havill, H. Lovell, W. Lovatt, T. Day. R. McConochie, W. JX Cowper ana L. J. Buckley,
