RIFLE SHOOTING.
GUN CLUB SHOOT. REID CUP TEAMS MATCH. There was a representative gathering at the Hamilton Gun Club's meeting at Ruakuru when, in addition to Hamilton contestants, no fewer than 17 competitors from Auckland, and representatives of Taumarunui, Otorolianga. Te Awamutu. Cambridge, Morrinsvllle, Matamutn, Huntly and Thames took part. The open trophy shoot of 15 birds for a canteen of cutlery, with an optional cash sweepstake, drew a field of 48. The latter event resulted in a win for S. Otway 13 The possible in six was shot by T. Glenn (14yds), W. Nehoff (12yds), C. Bovill (11yds) nnd J. Malcolm (10yds). A bird eye-opener sweepstake was held during the forenoon. The following shot the possible and divided the prize-money • W. J. McMiken, 17yds; R. McFarlane. 13; J. Amundsen, 15; W. Sharp, 1C: C. Webber, 10; N. Saunders, 12; W. Blair 11E. Wright, 11 ; W. Percival, 11 ; E. Okane" 13; G. McMullin, 15; S. Otway, 13; L. Maher, 17. The teams' contest for the Reid Cup resulted in a win for Morrinsvllle with an aggregate score of !)0 out of a possible 105. There were 15 birds and seven men in each team. Huntly were second with 88 points, Auckland B third with 86, and Auckland A next with 85.
