CHILD PARALYSIS.
AUCKLAND PROVISION.
QUESTION OF TREATMENT
A suggestion tJiat the Wilson Home for Crippled Children, at Takapuna, should be made available for children suffering from infantile paralysis, was made to the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, by the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, the' Rev. W. C. Wood who, in company with the superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, Dr. J. W. Craven, waited upon him yesterday.
In a statement later Mr. Wood said that the provision at the Auckland Hospital could only be temporary, as the course of special treatment would not be less than two years, and the question was whether that treatment could not be given at the Wilson Home. The Hospital Board realised that it must provide treatment, but considered that it would be wiser to make that provision in a place that was to be set apart as a crippled children's home. The urgency of the matter was impressed on Mr. Fraser, who will further consider the matter with Mr. Wood i:i Wellington on Thursday.
