"THRUMS" BOUGHT.
For Presentation to the Nation. N.Z.-BORN PHILANTHROPIST. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 2. The New Zealand-born philanthropist, Mr. Duncan Elliott Alves, who founded the scheme for building great oil reserves in England and helped to establish an entente between Britain and Latin America, has bought the late Sir James Barrie's birthplace, Kirriemuir, made famous by the novelist as "Th®ims." The township is to be presented to the nation.
