IRISH CHURCHMAN'S VIEWS. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON', July 2. A former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, Dr. T. M. Johnstone, of Antrim, who was fined fIOO on Tuesday 011 a charjre of contempt of Court, and was ordered to be imprisoned until the fine was paid, vesterdav attended his son's ordination.

"This is my only son's great day," Dr. Johnstone said. "Mine will be on July 9 when I present myself at the gates of the prison at Belfast. lam not looking forward to prison, but I am content to go there for my principles."

However, Dr. Johnstone has been saved from going to prison by the action of a secret donor in paying his fine. Dr. Johnstone was surprised at its payment and docs not know the identity of his helper.

The Belfast Presbytery at a special meeting parsed a resolution of sympathy with and confidence in Dr. Johnstone. Indignation at the severity of the sentence was also expressed. It was decided to take legal opinion.
