After a dispute over the share of the purse offered Tommy Farr, the Welsh heavy-weight, his manager announces that the proposed bout with Max Schmeling is'off. Farr is now to meet Joe Louis, the negro, in Xew York next September for the heavy-weight championship. Yesterday a cable stated that the British Boxing Board of Control wae to recognise the Farr-Sehnieling fight as a bout for th € heavy-weight world championellip. It was held that the BraddockLouie tight only decided the American championship. The cable does not state which championship Fair and Louis are lighting for. but for the British board to lie consistent it could only recognise the fight being for the American, and not [for the world championship.
