HOUSE DESTROYED.
("y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUMAKUXUI, this day. Fire destroyed a five-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr. Samuel Houpapa,. in Taringamotu Valley, together with its contents, about midday yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Houpapa were about 20 chains away from the house when they saw smoke issuing from the building and although they hurriedly returned and had assistance from the Maori pa nothing could be done to save the building. There whs no insurance on the house or the furniture.
