SURVOY GOES FAST
GOOD EFFORT BY PROFESSIONAL
The middle grass was available for fast work at Takanini this morning. The going was good and the best effort of the morning wa«' credited to Survoy over five furlongs.
Highborn (Bartle) and Grateful (O Brien) were associated over seven furlongs. They ran the Hist half mile in 53 3-5s and the full distance in 1.33 2-5. High horn was sticking on well. Mia Acrea and Silver Glow jumped avvav smartly from the five-furlong post, the former finishing a shade in front in 1 7 Spearcourt (Green) and Lap Up (Bartle) were companions over seven furlongs, which occupied 1.38 3-5. The first four furlongs took 58 3-5s and Lap L'p was going the easier of the pair at the finish. Survoy (Hatwell) began two lengths in front of Ivy Willonyx (.Jones) from the five-fyrlong post and was several lengths in front of his companion at the completion of the task. Survoy ran the initial two furlongs in 25s and the full distance in 1.3 2-5. High Quality (Walters) and Lady Ruler (Curwen) were sent a mile and a halt and came home in 2.49, the 'last mile occupying 1.53 3-5. Both worked well, especially Lady Ruler, who put plenty of dash into her task. Professional (Mudford) and Royal Passage (Green) completed seven furlongs in 1.33. They covered the first two in 255, three in 36 4-5s and the half mile in 50s. Professional appeared aa if he {foukl have done a shade better. Fox Moth finished up a useful task by sprinting the last two furlongs in 27 3-ss.
