R. BROWNE'S PERFORMANCE. i MATCH PLAY* CONTINUES. The outstanding performance in Auckland golf on- Saturday was that of K. H. Browne (Middlemore) in defeating B. H. Menzies, in the fourth round of the captain's prize. Menzies was round in 73, or one over the scratch score of the course, but-that excellent play was of no avail against Browne's 76. in receipt of eight strokes. A concurrent bogey was won by Browne, with a total of 41. and Menzies was runner-up. N. Louisson, who had a net 68 last week, and was not penalised iby the handk-apper, showed that it was no liuke by turning in a net 69 for the handicapper to scan. At North -Shore A. B. Browne, the lowest handicapped player, was beaten at last, L. Harrison accounting for him. Browne did well to go so far. In the qualifying -play for the Ballln Cnp H. Brinsden had the best round of the day. a 76. and this got him In the middle of 32. R. G. Tappenden and'C. George, with cards of 70 net. headed the list. Titirangi sent a team to Hamilton yesterday, and were defeated by the narrow margin of 13 games to 12.

INTER-CLUB MATCH-

HAMILTON BEATS TITIRANGI. Ideal conditions were experienced at St. Andrews during the week-end, when the annual golf match between teams from the Titirangi and Hamilton Clubs was played. The contest resulted in a win for Hamilton by 13 games to 12, with five all square. Following are the results, Titirangi players being mentioned iirst in each case : Singles.—A. A. Harvey lost to L. COLTMAN CUP MATCHES. The Coltman Cup series were continued at Akarana, and some Interesting matches eventuated. P. C. -Griffiths opened up an early lead of 2 up against W. H. Nicholls. but the position had been reversed at the turn. Reelrbg off scratch figures for the homeward journey, Griffiths squared the match at the eighteenth, and went on to win at the nineteenth. A. B. O. Saunders held too many guns generally for L. W. Makin and registered a comfortable win, as also did H. N. E. Clarke over E. F. Snell. J. S. Wiseman defeated a likely winner of the event in I.
