CHANGE OF FORM

The two Went Coast hurdlers Hunting Bag and Giggleswick showed a vast variation of form on the two days at Washdyke last week. Hunting Bag won like a good horse on' Thursday, with Giggleswick struggling on in third place. On Saturday Hunting Bag, after making the running as he did on the first dav, was well beaten two furlongs from home, at which stage Giggleswick made a forward move, and overtaking the leaders over the last fence, ran home one of the easiest winners of the day.

SHOULD NOT BE LONG

Du Maurier, a three-year-old gelding by Surveyor, showed a lot of speed in the Gordonton Stakes, six furlongs, at Te Rapa on Monday. When the held settled down he ran up very fast to the leader, Maori Song, and the pair carried on in front till the straight. Du Maurier disposed of Maori Soug, but be was unable to hold off Bass, who beat him by a couple of lengths. He is trained at Te Rapa by A. C. Jones," and is owned by Dr. Fraser, of Hamilton. Muria. the dam of Du Maurier, is from Marsuma, by Lupin, and showed pace'when raced. Du Maurier should not be long in reaching the winning list.
