LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

SANDRINGHAM BRANCH. At the monthly meeting of the Sandringham branch of the League of Mothers 50 members met at the St. John Ambulance headquarters, Rutland Street, on Thursday and spent a very profitable and delightful afternoon learning of the many activities of the association. The secretary-manager, Mr. S. E. Langstone, accompanied by Mrs. Langstone and Mrs. P. McUregor, a member of the committee, welcomed the members on their arrival and conducted them over the large building. Later Mr. Langstone gave a most enlightening and instructive address on the work of the association. On behalf of the members the president, Mrs. A. Wright, thanked Mr. Langstone for his talk and for the privilege extended to the branch. The chairman of committee, Mr. C. J. Tuiiks, also addressed the gathering, and spoke of tfie administrative work of the association and commended the work of St. John Ambulance for consideration by all present. KOHIMARAMA. The usual monthly meeting of the Kohimarama branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Pi-esbyteriaii Church. Mrs. F. G. H. Whyte, the provincial secretary, was the speaker for the afternoon, and gave a most interesting talk on the "Lovely Women of the Old Testament." Songs were given by Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Currie being the accompaniste. A vote of thanks to the speaker was -proposed by Mrs. Stan White.

MOUNT ROSKILL. The Mount Roskill branch of the League of Mothers met in the Methodist Hall, Mrs. Giles presiding. Mr. J. J. Sullivan was greatly appreciated in an interesting address on "Criminal Court Law." Mrs. Snell sang two solos. Tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Francis, Unswortli and Teutenberg. PARNELL. The monthly meeting of the Parnell ! branch of the League of Mntlii'rs took the form of a Coronation party. Lady Mackenzie presided. Sir George Richardson gave «u interesting talk on Empire matters and loyalty to our King. Mrs. S. 0. English, provincial president, congratulated the branch on its continued increase in membership and gave helpful advice for the future. The , thought for the month was given by the president. The Parnell branch of the League of Mothers held its first parade at Knox 'Church on Sunday morning. There was a large attendance of members. The Rev. D. Spence was the preacher for the day. Mrs. Hutchins gave a talk 011 the lives of sailors. REMUERA. The monthly meeting of the No. 2 branch of the League of Mothers was presided over by Mrs. W. R. Cashmore, president. The speaker for the afternoon was Miss Chapman, 0/ the Plunket Society, who spoke on the activities of the movement. The opportunity was taken by members to bid farewell to the Rev. and Mrs. Thompson, who have received a call to Invercargill. Items by several members of the Henderson branch were enjoyed.
