LATE NEWS.
WEATHER FORECAST. FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong northerly winds backing to north-west, and in places west. Weather still unsettled with rain at times in most places, but improving somewhat. Temperatures, moderate. Seas rough, but decreasing on the east coast, and moderate to rather rough on the west coast. Pressure is high to the north and east of New Zealand, an anti-cyclone being centred near Chatham Island, but low over the Tasman Sea and to the south. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong «ortherlies. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, intermittent rain probable. Barometer unsteady. Seas rough but decreasing. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north, moderate to fresh. Sea, moderate. Weather overcast and dull with misty rain. Visibiliy, poor. Barometer steady.
