STEAMER SERVICE.
PROPOSED RESUMPTION.
TRADE WITH AUCKLAND.
Advice has been received by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce from tile Norfolk Island Chamber of Commerce that there i« a prospect of resumption of the steamer service between the island and Auckland.
The Norfolk Island -people are eß<leavouring to arrange fTr the Bums, Philp fteamer Morinda tn make two trips to Auckland from the island in the period from -Tunp to August next. and are ready to ship 2000 cases of oranges ami a quantity of other produce. It is suggested that in order to carry out the service the Morinda should leave Sydney a weefc earlier than the present r-ehe<liilc.
Inquiries are now being made in Auckland to ascertain what cargo would be offering for the return trip tn the inland.
